The short version

How it affects what we recommend

It doesn't. We write our guides first — explaining product types and what to look for — and affiliate links are simply one way to find examples of those types. We don't accept payment for placement, we don't rank products by commission rate, and we don't endorse specific brands or claim to have tested specific products.

Advertising

Some pages also include ad slots (clearly labeled "Advertisement") that may show third-party ads. We don't control which specific ads appear in those slots.
